The Logitech Wireless Desktop MK320 Keyword and Mouse - Interesting Facts

By Oyolokediko Jamesolobo

The new Logitech Wireless Desktop MK320 comes with a wireless, ergonomically designed keyboard and a wireless mouse, the complete solution if you want to go cordless. The Logitech Wireless Desktop MK320 comprises of a handy, go anywhere, wireless mouse and a regular sized keyboard, both featuring a solid wireless connection. It is a breeze to set up the Desktop MK320. It's tougher to get the mouse and keyboard out of the box than to hook them up. Logitech Wireless Desktop MK320 is compatible with Windows-based PCs, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, and both devices should be easily recognized by the system as soon as they are connected. Just plug and play - no lag time or other installation troubles.

The keyboard comes with all the standard keys, and keys for a couple of extra shortcuts. There's a key that allows toggling between your home page and email together with music shortcuts and any other open apps you may have. It also has a couple of special function keys, such as locking the computer and switching it off. The keyboard is resistant to liquid spills, although you needn't endeavor to prove it. The mouse is similar in size to any regular notebook mouse. There are left, right and scroll buttons; this wireless mouse works equally well whether you use your right or left hand. Just above the ON/OFF switch is where the receiver snaps on to the bottom of the mouse.

At the bottom of the mouse you can see the battery cover release button. One thing that's lacking is Page Front and Back buttons; admittedly, these are more common on a desktop mouse than a notebook. The mouse is said to have a 5 month battery life, while the keyboard battery lasts upwards of 15 months. Don't forget, batteries that are included with devices like these are suspect at best, and all batteries' lives depend greatly on usage. The mouse has a battery life indicator; the keyboard doesn't have it.

You can use the keyboard, while on the sofa, to control videos that you're watching on your big flatscreen, while your laptop computer sits on your desk.

To summarize: The Logitech Wireless Desktop MK320 boasts of several positive features - handy shortcuts, excellent battery life, spill resistance and the way the mouse's receiver snaps on to its bottom. Another thing is that the battery cover for the mouse is super secure. There's no way it's going to simply fall off - you need to press the release. The fact that the batteries can't be recharged is a small disadvantage. Furthermore, there is no battery indicator on the keyboard the mouse doesn't have forward/back buttons.

The Desktop MK320 by Logitech has been designed for laptop users, but it should work as well for desktop users. The keyboard and mouse combo is a superb value at its relatively low-cost price, with its convenience and performance.
