Cataclysm Engineering Leveling Guide Will Help

By Patrik Moore

Many players may be looking for a cataclysm engineering leveling guide. Although this craft has long since been seen as the black sheep of the crafting trades, since the addition of epic goggles that require LV 525 in engineering to wear, it has grown in popularity and attracted many new aficionados. Below, we want to go into details on this topic.

Engineering has always provided players with many usable items that usually have no level requirement. This means that this craft has been very popular with twinks or those who are building a twink alt. This craft also has the ability to make two unique mounts: the Mechano-hog for the horde and the Mekgineer's chopper for the alliance. Engineers can also create cogwheel gems, a new addition to the game.

It is always a good idea to choose a secondary craft that complements the primary craft a player chooses. A popular secondary craft for engineers is mining. This is simply because many engineering schematics, or recipes, require ore or ingots. However, ore and ingots are readily available on the auction house and some players may choose that instead of farming them.

In that respect, another good secondary craft is skinning, as there is a variety of schematics, or recipes, that will require leather as an ingredient. For a player who has a gatherer alt or is willing to buy raw ingredients on the auction house, Jewelcrafting is a viable second craft. The reason for this is twofold.

Firstly, Jewelcrafting is another craft that is popular with twinks due to its ability to augment a low level character. However, for engineers, jewelcrafitng comes with an useful ability: prospecting. Prospecting is the ability to create gems, which are used in many engineering recipes, from raw ore.

Any character at level 10 can learn to be an engineer by talking to a trainer in any major city. There are two specializations in engineering, that can be trained at level 200. It is notable, though, that both Gnomish and Goblin engineering are not that important in cataclysm, and that a player can put that decision off until later.

Finding a good cataclysm engineering guide is easy. There are many sites willing to offer advice to a budding player, however, figuring out which recipes to use is a matter of looking at the available ingredients. Simply put, recipes with the most readily available ingredients are best used to grind one's way to the current crafting cap.
