Kindle Lighted Leather Cover - The best Way to Cover Your Kindle and Always Carry A Reading Light!

By Katie Delgado

The Kindle Lighted Leather Cover now provides Kindle users a stylish and practical method to maintain their device protected when they are on move, while ensuring that they're by no means with out a reading light.

The clever design incorporates a reading light which slides away into the cover whilst not in use to become completely invisible. The light is powered directly from the Kindle itself, via the patented gold-plated hinge mechanism.

Whenever you initial encase your Kindle within the cover, you will be impressed in the snug fit. The construct high quality is instantly evident, and also the pebble-grained leather exterior looks extremely intelligent. I purchased a blue cover, but they're accessible in seven various colours.

The Kindle is securely fastened inside the case by the hinge mechanism, and whilst shut, an elastic strap ensures the Kindle remains protected. The interior of the casing is made from soft microfibers, to ensure the screen remains scratch-free.

One particular of my principal issues was regardless of whether the light sufficiently illuminated the Kindle display, as a number of the promotional images recommend that the light only functions properly for the top-right corner in the screen. A rapid test proved this wasn't the case - the promotional images in this case are slightly misleading.

The dimensions with the case are as follows:

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover Weight

Weight without having Kindle: 8 oz

Weight with Kindle: 15.75 oz

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover Size

Front & Back: 7 3/4" x 5 1/8"

Spine: 7/8 "

Thickness: 3/4 "

Open side (with Kindle inside): 3/4 "

As far as the cover goes, there is extremely little to fault. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, extremely nicely. It is perhaps a little on the heavy side - doubling the weight with the Kindle itself - but even then it just feels sturdy, rather than heavy.

This is the perfect solution to the only real issue with the Kindle - the lack of a backlight. This is great for bright conditions - allowing you to read easily in the sunshine - but not so great when it's pitch black. With the Kindle Lighted Leather Cover you have a light when you need one, and when you don't need it - it slides away invisibly into the cover.

The cover is expensive, coming in at just under $60. Having said that, given you'd pay $35 for a cover without the built-in light, I would say the added convenience is worth the extra money.
