A Look At The Leo Tablet PC And What It Offers

By Ashley Hahn

One newcomer in the market of personal computers is the Leo tablet PC and it has nice features for a reasonable price. The concept for this new generation of computers is to offer people more mobility by doing away with the need for mice and in some cases keyboards. Original designs are touch pads only however in newer models there are keyboards being implemented for added measures.

What makes these so unique is the fact that they can be turned virtually any direction and the screen will adjust with the movements. They are also completely operated by touch so interaction is much easier because a person only has to touch the portion of screen they want to operate. Once the program is touched it can be started and operated by a single finger.

The manufacturers of this device also offer two distinct styles which are a convertible and slate design. Slate models are designed with touch pad controls and kind of look like the miniature chalk boards that were used in the early days of schools. Because these models make use of touch screen capabilities they are best used with vertical applications.

The convertible design which is new to the market is designed with a flip around screen that reveals a built in laptop. These models are meant for individuals that require a way to enter large amounts of data in a short period of time. They are also better suited to handle horizontal applications rather than vertical ones.

Each model has a choice of three screen sizes including a 7 inch, 8 inch or ten inch design. The screens are TFT flat panels, two panels share the same resolution as well. The 7 inch screen has a resolution of 800x600 dpi while the other two have a maximum of 1024x768 dpi.

The memory capacity of these models begin at 4 GB of storage memory and max out at 16 GB providing plenty of memory for applications. The working memory is also sufficient as well and begins at 256MB of DDR2 and increases to 512MB of DDR2. With the advancements in technology the new generations will be sure to add more memory.

Leo tablet PC models come with all the necessary components that a person could ever want and for a low price as well. Some options include a built in camera, WIFI, and a 3 axis accelerator that senses the movement of the machine and will turn off the hard drive to prevent damage. This unit is proving to be top contender in the world of personal computers and will only get better.
