Stay Awake for Your Gaming Sessions

For a computer game fan, staying awake all night and playing for long hours is very common. However, while some do it easily, others find it hard to keep their eyes open. Your body begins to get exhausted, your eyes refuse to stay open, and you do just as your mind tells you to and go off to sleep. So, what should you do so that you can play these long sessions and yet make absolutely no errors?

The first thing that you can do is have a lot of carbohydrates and proteins on the day of the big game. This helps in two ways. Firstly, it gives you enough energy to carry on for a longer time and secondly, it makes sure that you don't feel too hungry during the session. While eating may be fine, don't overdo it. If you overeat, you will begin to feel drowsy way too soon and you will also find it difficult to concentrate.

Your breakfast should be heavy. However, your lunch and dinner should be as light as possible, especially the dinner. For your short breaks during the gaming session, try coffee, ginseng tea or candy. Make sure, however, that you do not overdo the caffeine since too much of it will reduce your concentration. It may also make you feel too drowsy as soon as the effect wears off.

You should also consider taking supplements of vitamins and minerals daily since these will provide you with enough nutrients to carry on with your gaming for hours on end. While choosing a multi-vitamin, choose one that is good for your eye health. A good vision supplement should include vitamin A, B complex, C, D, and E and also lutein and zeaxanthin.

You should also consider taking fish oil in liquid or capsule form for your computer gaming sessions. These contain omega-3 fatty acids. These essential fatty acids are considered to be good for your eyesight as well as the rest of your body.

It is true that sleep will do you good and you will be more productive with a little bit of sleep. However, you can't actually stay awake for days on end without sleeping and without falling prey to any serious health problems. So, don't let your mind trick you into quitting and dozing off.

While you are busy playing, make sure to use bright lights since they keep you energized and prevent you from dozing off. And if you do feel as if your eyes won't just stay open, splash some cold water onto your face and eyes and get back to your game.
