The first thing you should always do is to identify what hardware you own. If you have a notebook, you might try obtaining the technical specs on the net, perhaps on one of the forums or on the vendor's site.

You can also check it by using an app such as PC-Wizard or HWInfo (both are absolutely free.) Download one of those, set it up and conduct fast scan.

When you know exactly what devices you got, you are able to start working on the 2nd part.

2. Find the drivers

You should obtain drivers to (these are the most basic and standard): your wireless card, ethernet card, video card, sound card, motherboard chipset.

Aside from that, you may want to look for mouse or printer drivers.

The next thing you must do is to type name of each one piece of hardware into Google combined with a word "driver". Then check out the webpages that Google provides you with, and hope there is the driver you need on one of those. An alternative is to start with your vendor's download center. Employ Google to find those.

3. Download the drivers

Double-check if you have picked the proper driver. It is a frequent mistake to obtain bad archive. Remember that installation of a bad driver might even corrupt your Windows! This is a very important step and crucial to ensuring your Windows set-up will be stable and secure!

4. Set up the drivers

Once you obtained the whole set of programs and store it on your HDD, you should start setting them up. One after another. And reboot whenever asked to.

5. Test

Ultimately, the test part. It is important to check your system regarding stability and performance after setting up drivers. This stage may take a moment but it is essential. You may genuinely regret skipping it later on.

Last but not least, setting up and bringing drivers up-to-date is often a fairly time-consuming task and not a very exciting one, as well. Nevertheless, it is critical to have all the freshest drivers installed on your computer. They bring far better user experience, as a consequence of strengthened protection, perfected reliability and overall performance. So be sure to upgrade your drivers regularly!
