The Destiny Of Notebook Computers - Could They Be Slipping Away or Here to Stay?

By Bill Matthews

When it comes to the most recent technology on the scene nobody can deny that tablet computers are a juggernaut that doesn't seem to be losing momentum anytime soon. While tablets clearly have been out long before Apple produced the iPad, Jobs and his team did a brilliant job of providing people what they truly wanted. It naturally begs the question if laptops are likely to fade into the sunset. There appears to be quite a divided crowd on those who feel notebooks and laptops are here for good while others feel that its likely they'll drop to less than 25% of the share of the market.

One of the primary benefits many laptop computer users claim is that when it comes down to having the ability to efficiently key e-mails or reports users can't beat a laptop. Now days tablet computers such as the iPad have introduced external keyboards for a very cheap cost. Due to this users can now use the thin transportable benefits while also having a handy keyboard therefore sorting out the keyboard problem.

Thanks to the market's need for smaller devices that are much more versatile naturally tablets have gained major ground. With Apple's latest release of the updated iPad offering much greater processing together with a high grade Retina screen with the highest resolution ever folks are leaving not only their home desktop computers but also their notebooks. But a large number of people still wonder whether they are doing it for real usefulness or its a result of the fashion trend.

While tablet computers continue to remain a fashionable option it's quite natural that consumers need to be part of the in crowd. However, it's hard to argue the appearance of what are known as Apps. These small programs are literally a shake-up that few could have ever bought into a few years back. What applications have effectively done is broke the Net down into tiny bite size pieces that people can easily understand and actually find useful.

It has effectively opened the arena of the web to a whole new facet of users. Even old notebook users are finding the Web a completely different experience with an endless source of Apps to choose between. Personal recommendations have made fortunes for these App creators as the utility of many Apps can't be understated. Given many are for fun but many individuals are far more comfortable with apps as they help compartmentalize options. With this strong injection of new Internet users on the scene using apps which are not available on a portable it's debatable that consumers will continue to stick with tablets as folks are creatures of habit.
