The Photosmart D110A Wireless Printer From HP - Is It Worth What You Pay For?

By Arthur Parthos

The HP Photosmart D110A Wireless e-All-in-One Printer is a decent low-end printer, and you are probably getting what you have paid for. It has several uncommon features although its performance is rather average. It might work best for a small family who like printing things, especially good for the youngsters. The printer is simple to put together, and comes nicely packed, and the only tiny problem was installing the cartridges.

In the installation instructions, there's a few inaccurate information so you'll have to install the cartridges yourself. The Photosmart D110A wireless printer from HP will tell you know when the cartridges are not properly installed and, once you install them correctly, you'll have to switch the power off and then back on. A cool add-on is the included sturdy canvas carrying tote. As long as you stick with the instructions, you should be able to set up the HP Photosmart D110A without any problem. After you install the software, it will recognize the HP Photosmart D110A right away.

While the D110A is publicized as a printer for pictures, it only does an average job. When you look at the photos up close, you'll find print lines which are markedly noticeable on skin areas. The Photosmart D110A does okay on other print jobs where fine details are not that important. This printer works well in a home setting as it isn't fast enough to be used in an office. A better alternative is the Canon PIXMA MX860 which prints a lot faster and does a great job on photos, although it is more expensive and more difficult to move around. You will get value for your dollar when you buy Photosmart D110A wireless printer from HP.

You will have to use your computer's scanning software to have more control over the scanned photos produced by the Photosmart. The printer controls function erratically, not always scanning the whole page and often reversing the layout. Unfortunately, you don't have any way to paper since only single pages can be scanned. Also, because the HP Photosmart D110A only does image-based scans, you will have to use other software if you want to include text. Though it doesn't come with faxing features, the Photosmart does a decent job of copying. Should you need to send a fax, the Photosmart won't help you, but majority of people don't send faxes any longer. This is yet another reason that the Photosmart is not a good choice for office use.

The HP Photosmart D110A Wireless e-All-in-One Printer comes with the ePrint function and the Print Apps function, a couple of different web functions. The first one lets a registered user take anything from the web, and print it to your printer, and with the other function you register online at HP's web site for print apps. Your printer comes equipped with a number of apps such as the Sudoku app and the Coupon app. And so, you have a low-end printer that will work just fine for a number of people.

It is pretty clear that HP created this printer to offer the user with quickly, effortless, and excellent quality print jobs. The great top quality print jobs come from the printer's wonderful color print resolution with up to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi.

HP Photosmart e-All-in-One Printer d110a has a scanner with an optical resolution as much as 1200 dpi and an enhanced resolution as much as 19,200 dpi. The printer's scanner has a bit depth of 48. Though it does not have the capability to fax all of its other fantastic points make up for it. One point that has yet to be mentioned is its capability to create up to 29 copies per minute.

If you appear at the HP Photosmart e-All-in-One Printer d110a in its entirety, one can see that this printer may be obtained for the low cost of $59.99. There actually is nothing poor to say about this printer.
