Why I Am Enthusiastic About CoD Escalation?

By Elliott R. Tumminello

I don't believe I've been more thrilled for a Call of Duty Map Pack than when Treyarch and Activision announced "Escalation." I completely loved First Strike however I still believed like they could have done better, and with Escalation, they went above and beyond my expectations!

Believe me when I let you know that it's really worth living $15 poorer because of this one. On this page, we talk about the Convoy and Hotel as part of this fun map pack.

SECURING THE CONVOY

The first map presented in Escalation is "Convoy," a region on a damaged highway bridge within a suburban area in the US. Convoy is fairly large, however its design and style enables you to blend long range battles with condensed firefights. Personally, I feel it is a snipers haven. The most noticeable thing about Convoy is that there are lots of routes to get to any specific part of the map, which made playing Domination here difficult, specifically in an effort to capture the B flag.

THE HOTEL

The subsequent map is Hotel, located in a glorious Cuban hotel. Or more precisely, between the 2 large buildings of the hotel as well as the pool area that links them. The pool area is normally the area to be if you'd prefer close battles, but yet again Treyarch kept our snipers in mind with this particular one. A fairly neat interactive addition, just like the zip lines of "Kowloon," is the elevators. If you're a camper I am aware where to locate you. Hotel may not be the most difficult map for gameplay, but it gets an A for its aesthetic design and originality.

These are just the two main reasons why the Call of Duty Escalation map is certainly a winner with plenty of CoD supporters. Needless to say, I haven't even mentioned the Call of the Dead as the greatest part of this series.
